Frequently Asked Questions

We utilise all four quadrants of operant conditioning, which are:

  • Positive reinforcement - adding something pleasant to increase the likelihood of a behaviour (e.g, treats or praise)
  • Negative reinforcement - taking away something unpleasant to increase the likelihood of a behaviour (e.g. stopping an uncomfortable stimulus when the dog performs the desired action)
  • Positive punishment - adding something unpleasant to decrease the likelihood of a behaviour (e.g. a correction or undesirable consequence)
  • Negative punishment - taking away something desirable to decrease the likelihood of a behaviour (e.g. withholding food)

This balanced approach ensures that training is effective, clear, and tailored to your dog’s needs.

Absolutely! All dogs benefit from training, as it helps mentally stimulate them and provides an outlet for energy. Most problem behaviours stem from a lack of physical and mental exercise. Through effective communication and obedience training, we can enhance your dog's behaviour, which often leads to better off-leash opportunities and a more fulfilling lifestyle.

Your dog will stay at the head trainer's home, which allows for real-life training scenarios and smoother integration back into home life. Your dog will have access to a crate at night and when unsupervised for safety and comfort.

Yes! Dogs love to use their brains and learn new things. Training sessions are structured in a way that keeps things fun and engaging for your dog. There will also be opportunities for socializing with the trainers and other dogs (if appropriate) to ensure a well-rounded experience.

The minimum age for boarding dogs is 5 months old. This ensures that your dog is mature enough to adapt to a new environment and follow basic instructions.
